Security Bot alternative
A Security Bot alternative that undoes the damage
By ESN Systems, makers of ESN Guardian. Updated November 2, 2026.
Security Bot (securitybot.gg) is one of the most widely used anti-nuke bots on Discord, and its docs are clear about how it works. If you are comparing alternatives, the real questions are what happens after an attack, how it treats your own bots, and what you pay for. Here is an honest comparison with ESN Guardian, sourced from Security Bot's own docs.

What Security Bot does well
Security Bot's docs describe a limit-based anti-nuke: it watches banning, kicking, creating and deleting channels and roles, adding bots, giving dangerous permissions, adding dangerous roles and pruning members. Each action has a configurable limit, and anyone who goes over it inside a 10-minute window gets a pre-set punishment. The docs note that this 10-minute reset “is fixed and cannot be changed”. On top of that, Beast Mode adds a server-wide score: when enough dangerous actions happen across the whole server, it punishes anyone performing them until it calms down after 60 minutes or someone presses Calm Down. It also has anti-raid, CAPTCHA verification, moderation with limits and user, role and channel whitelists.
That is a solid, well-documented setup, and many servers are happy with it.
Where Guardian is different
- Undo, documented. Stopping an attacker after three channel deletes still leaves three channels gone. Guardian keeps structure snapshots, and
/rewindplus the one-click undo on the log put deleted channels and roles back with their permissions./snapshot diffshows exactly what changed. - It watches your other bots. Guardian's Sentry learns how each trusted bot normally behaves and steps in when one suddenly floods, pings everyone or makes bulk changes, which is how a leaked bot token usually shows up.
- Temporary trust.
/whitelist grantgives a moderator extra rights that expire on their own, for example ban rights for two hours during an event. - No separate premium bot. Security Bot's docs say Premium runs as a different bot: you invite Security Premium and remove the free bot. Guardian is one bot, and Premium only changes its look.

Guardian side of every table: every protection is included on every server. Guardian Premium ($1.99/month or $19.90/year) only changes the bot's name, avatar, banner and bio in your server.
Trying Guardian without risk
- Add Guardian and drag the ESN GUARDIAN role near the top of your role list. It can only act on roles and members below it.
- Run
/guardian setupand pick a preset, or answer four quick questions. Guardian makes a log channel and checks its own permissions. - Trust your admins with
/antinuke trustand take a first snapshot with/snapshot takeso/rewindhas something to restore from. - Run both bots side by side for a few days and compare the logs. Then keep the one you prefer and remove the other bot and its role, so it no longer holds permissions.
Do not run two anti-nuke bots in punishing mode at once. Put one in alert-only mode while you compare, so they do not both act on the same moderator.
When Security Bot might still fit better
If your team already has its limits and whitelists tuned, likes Beast Mode's server-wide approach and does not need tickets or levels from the same bot, there may be no reason to switch. Guardian's edge is biggest when you want attacks undone, not just stopped.
Questions
Is Security Bot free?
Its core features are free. Security Bot's docs list Security Premium at $3.50/month per server and Premium+ at $8.50/month per custom bot, bought through Patreon.
Can Security Bot restore deleted channels?
Its home page names a recovery system, but we could not find a docs page that describes what it restores. Guardian documents /rewind and a one-click undo that restore deleted channels and roles with permissions.
What is the 10-minute window?
Security Bot counts each moderator's dangerous actions over a fixed 10-minute window. If the ban limit is 3, someone can ban 3 members in any 10 minutes before being punished.
