Dyno anti-nuke: what Dyno covers and what it does not
By ESN Systems, makers of ESN Guardian. Updated November 2, 2026.
Dyno is one of the most popular moderation bots on Discord, with a long-standing automod, custom commands and a web dashboard. People search for “Dyno anti-nuke” because they want to know whether Dyno can stop a server from being wiped. Dyno's own FAQ answers that directly, and the honest answer is that it is not built for it. This page explains what that means and how to cover the gap.

Does Dyno have anti-nuke?
Dyno's FAQ, under “Does Dyno have an anti-nuke/anti-raid function?”, says: “Dyno does not currently offer a feature to prevent Moderators or Administrators from abusing their privileges or ‘nuking’ the server.” It points to the Automod module for stopping normal users from spamming, using bad words or mass-pinging.
That is a fair split. Automod handles members misbehaving. A nuke comes from an account that already has power: a moderator whose account was phished, an admin who goes rogue, or a bot whose token leaked. Automod is not designed to stop those accounts.
Keep Dyno, add anti-nuke
You do not have to drop Dyno. Many servers keep Dyno for automod, custom commands and moderation, and add a dedicated security bot. ESN Guardian works fine next to Dyno:
- Anti-nuke: Guardian tracks deletes, bans, kicks, webhook creation and bot adds per account, including staff and bots, and strips the attacker's dangerous roles when they cross a limit.
- Undo: structure snapshots plus
/rewindand the one-click undo on the log restore deleted channels and roles with permissions. - Bot watch: Sentry steps in if a trusted bot, Dyno included, suddenly starts flooding or making bulk changes after a token leak.
- Raid shield and verification: captcha and web verification for join waves, if you want them in addition to Dyno's autoban rules.
Keep Guardian's role above Dyno's role so it can act on Dyno if Dyno's account is ever the one misbehaving.

Trying Guardian without risk
- Add Guardian and drag the ESN GUARDIAN role near the top of your role list. It can only act on roles and members below it.
- Run
/guardian setupand pick a preset, or answer four quick questions. Guardian makes a log channel and checks its own permissions. - Trust your admins with
/antinuke trustand take a first snapshot with/snapshot takeso/rewindhas something to restore from. - Run both bots side by side for a few days and compare the logs. Then keep the one you prefer and remove the other bot and its role, so it no longer holds permissions.
Questions
Can Dyno stop a nuke?
Dyno's FAQ says it does not currently offer a feature to stop moderators or administrators from abusing their permissions or nuking the server. Its Automod is for normal members spamming or breaking word rules.
Can I use Dyno and Guardian together?
Yes. Keep Dyno for automod and custom commands, add Guardian for anti-nuke, undo and verification, and place Guardian's role above Dyno's.
Which automod should I keep on?
Pick one bot for each job so members are not warned twice. Many servers keep Dyno's automod and use Guardian for anti-nuke, raids and verification.
